Membership Benefits

The Southern California High School Soccer Coaches Association plays an important part with the organizations that influence the sport of high school soccer (e.g. Officials, CIF, rules changes, etc.). The Association is the conduit that keeps the membership informed about what is happening at the CIF-SS, division and league levels. Some of the other key benefits of joining the Association include:

  • Have input into the weekly top 10 polls, playoff pairings and selection of All-CIF Southern Section teams.
  • The Association offers several scholarships to student athletes for their academic and athletic success.
  • Senior athletes of member coaches are eligible for All-Star Games. The All-Star Game is be held each Spring.

CIF Southern Section Division 3 covers the boys in the Citrus Belt, Del Rio, Desert Valley, Foothill, Los Padres, Mt. Baldy, Orange, San Antonio, San Gabriel Valley, Southwestern and Sunkist Leagues and the girls in the Big 8, Empire, Freeway, Inland Valley, Ocean, Orange Coast, PAC 7, Prep, Suburban and Sunkist Leagues.

League races coming to an end:
 
Big 8: #1 Santiago was defeated 2-1 by ML King 2-1 and tied Norco 1-1 but still remains in 1st place at (9-1-2). ML King (8-3-0), Riverside Poly (7-2-3), Centennial (6-4-2) looks to finish in the top four
 
Empire: Cypress (6-2-0) takes on Pacifica (7-1-0) for a chance at the league title…Kennedy (5-3-0) looks to finish 2nd or 3rd
 
Freeway: Troy (5-0-3), Sunny Hills (4-1-3), Sonora (5-2-0) & Fullerton (4-2-2) are all fighting for the top spots in this final week
 
Inland Valley: Canyon Springs (9-2-0), Arlington (7-2-2) and La Sierra (8-2-2) are at the top of the league
 
Ocean: Santa Monica (7-1-1) will play Culver City (6-1-1) for the league championship with Beverly Hills (4-1-2) looking to finish 3rd
 
Orange Coast: Calvary Chapel (6-1-1) has clinched the league championship, Estancia will finish 2nd (4-1-3) and Laguna Beach (2-2-3) 3rd
 
Pac 7: Arroyo Grande (9-1-0) and Righetti (8-2-0) will play Friday night for the league title…SLO (7-3-0) remains in 3rd  
 
Prep: Pasadena Poly (6-1-1), Chadwick (6-2-0) and Flintridge Prep (6-2-0) are battling for the league championship in this final week
 
Suburban: La Mirada (9-1-1) needs to win out to become league champs after beating Mayfair 2-0…Mayfair also lost to Artesia 2-1 to drop to (9-2-0)
 
Sunkist: Bloomington (6-1-1) and Summit (6-0-2) will play the league championship this week…Patriot is 6-3-0

2009-2010 Girls Division III Update #1

2010 is under way...

Hello GDIII,

 

Our division looks to be another competitive one this year...at #1 is Santiago Corona who has big wins over DI powers El Toro & Los Alamitos and won the North Orange County Classic for the first time with big wins over Brea, Los Altos, Granite Hills, Sunny Hills and La Serna in the final..,they are currently 19-1-1 and look like the team to beat this year...at #2 is defending CIF Champion Troy who has the majority of their team back from last year...they opened up the season with an impressive win over Mater Dei and a tie vs. Aliso Niguel...they are currently undefeated in league...#3 Riverside Poly is the only undefeated team at 16-0-2...RP tied Santiago in league play and was Riverside Poly Tournament Champions...#4 Sunny Hills is currently 14-2-3, and was Semi-finalists of the North Orange County Classic...#5 San Luis Obispo is 16-1-2 and has a big win 4-0 over league rival Arroyo Grande...#6 Mayfair, a perennial CIF DIII power is once again on top of the Suburban League defeating rival La Mirada 1-0 in their first meeting...Mayfair has tied Troy and is a young solid team...#7 Arroyo Grande is 15-3-0 and has wins over Brea & La Mirada and is awaiting their rematch win SLO...#8 Cypress, 2009 Semi-finalists has played a tough schedule well...they are undefeated in League and look to battle with Pacifica for the league title...#9 Fullerton is a solid team and defeated #4 Sunny Hills during the first round of league play...#10 Sonora defeated Fullerton yesterday and is a team to watch out for...#10 Chadwick continues their solid play in the Prep league and looks to repeat as champions...
